    Clearing Accounts after Bankruptcy

I have been discharged from Bankruptcy since March 2005 and my credit score is 492 and it has not improved since filing. I wouldlike to buy a house but I have to get my score to at least a 580. I was told that even though all the accounts that I filed under bankruptcy says "included in the backruptcy" on my credit report, it still affects my score. Should dispute those accounts and have them deleted?

As long as your BK is discharged and you have no present bad trade lines in the last two years you can get a mortgage easy.

Yes, by all means dispute them. They should fall off when your BK is discharged. Your credit should be clean.

It says here on this site that the lowest score they've ever seen be approved for a mortgage is 550. You'll need to get those inaccurate and misleading items removed, especially to get the mortgage at a decent interest rate. You're going to save yourself tens of thousands of dollars over the life of your mortgage if you take the time to clean up your report.

Honestly!!!  You don't really need to call anyone except those creditors.  Explain the BK has been discharged and ask them to remove the past due.  Your credit score will bounce right up.

True, they don't always voluntarily remove past due... from your credit report.  You have to make the call.  Why pay someone else to make the call?

    Good Luck
